Have you ever thought of involving your children in your scrapbooking hobby? Here are a few tips to help get them started.
Give them a basic lesson on colors, matting, spacing and use of tools. Only put out tools you are comfortable with them using. According to their age keep it short and simple. If you take too long to explain they might get impatient.
Let them do the creating. Try to let them do what they want to do even if you don't think it looks they way you want it to. You will be amazed at the amount of creativity children have. It will also give them something to be proud of if it is their own work.
Find things ahead of time that go with the pictures they want to work on. This will save time and keep the project moving.
If they really like to scrapbook it would be fun to put together a simple box of their own supplies. It will also keep them out of your supplies. Scrapbooking can be expensive, so keep it simple. For example, glue stick, scissors, paper, markers stickers, and paper cutter. They can still create great pages without a lot of equipment and product.
Display their work. Praise your child and show others what they have created. This will give them a sense of accomplishment.
