Klic-N-Kut Instructions
Klic-N-Kut Pattern Importing

Scrapola has designed its patterns to work easily in most cutting machines, including the Klik-N-Kut Machines. We’re working hard to support other machine files types and most should be added shortly.

Below is a simple instructional guide for those who have the Klic N Kut Machines and would like to import Scrapola’s patters for easy cutout. This opens up exciting new opportunities such as vinyl, cloth and other material cutting.

Here is the Step-By-Step Guide:

  1. Once you are a member, or have purchased patterns from Scrapola, Download the PDF of the pattern to your computer’s desktop.
  2. Open the KNK software, click Import under the File menu. It will then ask you to locate the file on your computer. Go to the desktop (or wherever you have the files saved) and choose the PDF file you’d like to import. Do not change any of the other options.
  3. There will be a right angle that comes up on the screen. Hold down the mouse and drag the angle down towards the right. When you release the mouse some options will come up. Just click ok. The image will then appear. You can edit the pieces of the pattern, move them around or delete ones you do not want.
  4. You then need to go in and change the thickness of the lines. There is a tool on the left side of the screen. It is second to the bottom. It is called the stroke and fill tool. Make sure the items you want to cut are selected. (to select them use the orange arrow. This is the top tool.) Once you have clicked the stroke and fill tool, a little window pops up. Click on this little pen and a new menu will show up at the top of the screen.
  5. Click the button second icon in. It looks like a thin line with two arrows pointing to the line. Click on this button and it will make the lines thinner.
  6. You are then ready to cut. Click on the Scissors tool. It will take you to a new screen. The items you had selected will be on the screen but turned 90 degrees. Make sure that the items you wanted to cut are there. If you would like the items you cut to all clump together at the bottom to save paper, click on the fourth tool from the right. It looks like a white box with a read outline with a yellow and green square in it. This will clump them in the lower left hand corner.
  7. Now you are ready to cut. Click on the scissor tool again. This will start the cutting process. It should cut out everything on this screen. (Remember to always check where your blade is before you start cutting. It needs to be in the bottom right hand corner of the paper.
